logo_CAiR_sw_cutFor 25 years now, there’s the artist house “Stadttöpferei”, based in the historical city centre of Neumünster, northern Germany. It is run by the Dr. Hans Hoch Foundation as a special place for art and artists and focused on ceramic art in all its facets. Activities include regular exhibitions and workshops in the gallery or the International Ceramic Symposium, which took place here in 2010 for the first time. In future it will be possible to enabling more artists to live and work in the residence house, due to the new internationally announced program “Ceramic Artist in Residence”. This program introduces the debate on contemporary positions of ceramic art, intercultural dialogue, as well as experiments with materials and audience.

Young artists will stay fully 4 weeks free of charge in the equipped atelier (with kilns, potter wheels etc.) and in the living space. To fire in electric or gas kilns is free as well. Basic materials will be provided. The working space is open during the day. The artists will be present and allow visitors an insight view into her creative process. At the end of the residency, a final public presentation in the form of a lecture, workshop, exhibition or an intervention with the focus on the actvities is expected.
